Visual Symbols in my Life

I think that visual symbols are very critical in my everyday life.  I use symbols such as stop lights to know when to go and when to stop while driving.  The main visual symbols that I use is landmarks on campus.  I know that from the Campanile to Schindler, it takes me about 3 minutes to walk.  I can use these visual symbols to judge my time and if I will be on time, early, or late.  I also use visuals in the classroom.  For example when I see a text on a screen that is small, then I know what I have to do to improve my abilities to increase my learning.  To me, visuals are the most used and abused thing that we see in our daily lives. I say abused because we know that subliminal messaging occurs and we, as a society, are not doing anything to stop it.
